Salazar street from across the street from the Chow King. Trike in Tacloban is different and the drivers are rather rude compared to the other places in the Phils.
Chowking located in Salazar street Tacloban City, the restaurant is full a lot of People their. The Street has no more space also Trike and any other Vehicles can park anywhere they want.
You cannot easily cross the street, it is not wide enough for the vehicles and trikes and also because all the vehicles can park anywhere they want . Rizal Avenue in Tacloban City going to the Hotel D' Angelo and some Jeepney's parking side by side.
The Big building is the Hotel D' Angelo where in they have everything for their guests. Office of the Department of Tourism near at the Leyte Park Hotel, Tacloban City.
Guard is running to open the gate for Phil at the Department of Tourism.. Friendly staff from Department of Tourism in Tacloban that gave us maps and some help or info on the Visays.

Tacloban City is the Capital of the Eastern Visayas, Trikes and Jeepneys are the main transportation here. From our Room Hotel D' Angelo Looking across at  Cancabato Bay to San Juanico Strait to Samar Island.
Pintados Fetival performers. Other municipalities performing with flags.
Octopi also joined the Festivals. hehehehhe..... Some other Performers.

Street was filled with thousands of People and Pintados  Festival performers. These are from the Municipality of Carigara performing the Pintados  Festival on 29 of June.
Some other performers who represents every District and Municipality of Leyte and with the Government Employee. General Douglas MacArthur is part of their Festival, he is in the Heart of all the Leytenos.

thank you for posting picture of Tacloban , i been away from my hometown since 2004...Kumusta sa mga classmate ko sa LIT(batch 91)and ADF (2001).I miss the beautiful beach and mga pagkaon like moron ,binagol,gaway and undying lechon na waray makapantay it rasa kahit ano restaurant didi maynila..Happy fiesta mga Taclobanon.Cheers

i would like to thank vilma monserata her mother maria, her sisters and other close family members for making my stay in tacloban city an experience i will never forget, i was fortunate to visit the philipinnes in may 2009, vilma's family made me so welcome, theyt and the poeple the people were so friendly and humble and the scenery was truly a sight to see,i had 2 wonderfull weeks that i will never forget, i hope to return again in december 2009 somthing i am really looking forward too

I liked the pictures very much, My mum is from tacloban leyte she maried a dutch guy. I am looking for pictures of my deseased grandpa/lolo He died, 1,5 weeks ago . He was a filipino veteran. I was a sodier in the U.S. Army at Base "K" at Tacloban in 1946 and 1947. These pictures blew me away! Tacloban was very different in the 1940s. I wonder if any of akon sangkays are still alive: Carmen Maldiano, Alfonso R. Amante, Salvacion Caminong, to name a few? Nahagugma ako Tacloban.

Recently visited Tacloban and Dulag. I think it has lots of improvement and expansion over the years. Last time I visited was in 1992. What a big change. The government needs to do zoning though and make sure there is a better Water Sewage and Waste Management System. The people are great. Thanks for these pics, they are great.

tacloban city is nice place to be, maraming magagandag gusali at medyo malayo lang talaga sa entry point namin galing sa surigao.. when we past to tacloban city we fuel our car and the price of the fuel is so high... it so amaze that i reach tacloban city going to manila and then to palawan puerto princesa city... it been a long way a head starting to sorsogon to manila port.. from 5PM we reach to manila port at 9PM

Yes Tacloban city is a wonderful place to visit. There are also beautiful places worth to visit in nearby towns if you are nature lover. Just 30-40 mins. drive, depending in your place of choice, to wonderful beaches in Samar and Leyte. If interested i can be your guide at reasonable rate. Have Fun!

I am looking forward to be back in this city in few weeks "someone was asking about a good hotel...try MacArthur Park Hotel..along the Red Beach. it is about 20-30 min. to downtown tac. away from the hustle and bustle yet near enough to where you want to go...as long as you do not mind riding the jeepneys... it's fun plus you will be in a historic area.." Don't stay on MacArthur Beach Resort/Hotel in the next year or two. The hotel is worn down. Dirty pools and broken windows. there is a beautifully located resort about 30 km from Tacloban. Has a restaurant and cafe with great cakes, clean pools ( not for swimming), lots of flowers and plants and all very clean and well done. They do schedule weddings etc BUT do not have accommodation at this time but seems to be in the works. Question: what is the name of that place? I just can not remember.

I love Tacloban. People are fun loving, honest, sincere, generous and hardworking. I love eating out whenever my schedule allows it. B-bq eating is fun at the streets in Tacloban. But there's one thing I would like to call attention from the Management of Chaoking in Tacloban...please do improve the hygiene of the staff of the establishment...they're so amoy pawis, while doing the erands in the restaurants..kawawa naman, the boys were just doing their job, but management should look into this, because this leave a negative impression os us mga waray..lakasan naman ang aircon and require the waiters to change pag pinawisan na. On my next visit I will try again to drop by and check id thwere has been n improvement considering that I personnaly told the manager of my experience. Good luck Chaoking and Tacloban..Mabuhay

Hello Moderator! Thank you for this website. I was in Leyte last October 2008 to check the area and the people, following an earnest request for a medical mission somewhere in Sogod, Leyte, a fourth class municipality with a high rate of poverty. I met very nice people: sincere, simple, gentle, hospitable. I was touched by the sheer simplicity of life in Leyte (my first time to stay there). Despite their poverty the people were calm. And the people I met were very industrious but as I observed their earnings coming in so very slowly, I noticed they did not get frustrated. I wondered at the greatness of their soul. They could persevere despite the humdrum of daily breadwinning. I am now working on procuring medicines for the sick poor and inviting health professionals who can serve in a medical-dental mission. I came upon this site as I was trying to find links with kindhearted people who can help in the endeavor. If anybody wishes to be of help, kindly email me. I was born in Palo, Leyte and studied in LNS & DWU i often visit Tacloban every 2/3 years, we had a DWU hi-sch reunion class 67 return of the sixties last jul 2007, now we're forecasting elementary reunion Leyte Normal Sch class 63 for July 2010.. Tacloban city had improve, though Tacloban airport shud be at least be renovated, i hope for the next few years as what is posted inside the airport embarkment area a plan for new Tacloban airport is shown. I hope this project will push through. In fact what is the present situation of Macarthur Park Beach Resort since it was turn over from Phil Dept of Tourism to a private ownership. Would like to hear anybodys feedback. I wud like to know if anybody had infos Hi sch classmate Evelyne Lego, DWU high sch class 67 & her neighbour Carmelina Aquirre, DWU hi sch class 69 & my neighbour Zenaida Nueva & Marivic Ergina from Tunga, Leyte Ernesto Malazarte from Leyte,Leyte. I have been to tacloban twice,first to meet my gf and then to marry her.What a wonderful place,her home town is pinarigusan and the people there were the most wonderful people,so friendly and willing to accept me. I think if anyone from western or european countries want to find a place that is simply fantastic-leyte is is good place to start and for those seeking a wife,there is no better place in my mind that the philippines.

Her father's name is Bernardino Cayubit, mother's name is Norberta Cinco Cayubit, her twin brother is Gregorio Cayubit and younger brother is Francisco Cayubit, she said she was 12 years old when she left Tacloban, but she still speak the language. My mother and I are trying to come home sometimes in Oct.09. We would like to find if she still have brother's live and would like to meet him, we normally go home in Zambales and we grew up in Zambales too and that is my father's province, my mother is longing to see her brothers since my father is gone.. I enjoyed your photos of Tacloban City very much. It is an interesting place and most certainly worth a visit. Thank you! My lady, Jene Bautista, and her children currently live in Butuan City, Mindanao. She has family living in Leyte, though I am not sure where. Hello. It is so nice to see this website for it has a lot of information and things to considering when traveling from Samar to Leyte. It is really helping substantially. It’s really sad to note that much as we wanted to stay in our native place we really can't for reasons that we have to consider our own benefit and for our families. I really hope that you guys who are away from home would always be in good health. For those who have had bad experiences riding the tricycles and unpleasant treatment of some people from our city, please accept my apology. It's good to be home even for a very short period of time. Tacloban City is rapidly growing now. It cannot be denied that positive changes is invading the then Tacloban City you used to know. Please come home and savor once more the hospitality you used to accord with when you have your own visitors back then.

well, have you everheard the latest developing news that the city of tacloban has now been elevated to highest status as one of HIGHLY URBANIZED CITY OF THE PHILIPPINES....WOW...What a word of wonder? trully, tacloban city for so long it should be proclaimed as a highly urbanized city of the philippines...this is the most awaited moments of all taclobanons residing locally or to all daughters and sons of the whole leyte island wherever they maybe in this part of the globe. to be acclaimed as HUC of the philippines is a great manifesto that somehow our city showed that we have the capacity to be ordained as HUC of the philippines. it only shows that our city is very competitive when it comes to development and the local government who runs it is simply doing their best to be noticed by its destractors and opposition. it clearly shows that somehow at this time of uncertainties the city of tacloban has somewhat grows slowly to be the next progressive city of the country...once we are declared as a HUC means simply that we must have a congressional representative in the congress to voice out the pleas of the majority taclobanons and it will cementend only the direct needs of the minorities...trully, now is the time we taclobanons be heard and be seen that we are a folks of common with one goal to be recognized as a highly urbanized city of the philippines who conributed much to the progress of a nation sharing one dream and with one goal to be a proud citizen of our great nation...THE PHILIPPINESÈ!...GO TACLOBAN GO...KEEP ONWARDS AND MABUHAY!

Wow, the pictures were really nice!!!Brings back memories when I was still a salesman of heavy equipments in the whole of Visayas region. Nagiba na gudman an Tacloban City, marisyo na ngan mahusay pa gud. 22 yrs. na ak dd ha Holland and very surprising ang development han Tacloban. Thanks to our kababayans abroad we were able to help improved our economy in our beloved land. Hopefully, we will visit Tacloban City again with my 2 daughters 14 & 18 yrs.old. Magpakipatud ini hira. So, I hope they will enjoy our visit next year and planning to visit Guian, Samar wherein a hospital project of Phils. Aid Fund might be able to conduct again their medical mission and we will volunteer ourselves to help.My friend Amy Garado is the initiator of this Christian project.

My Dad and I visited Tacloban last year. I've been to Tacloban several times over the years but not my Dad. He was just happy to visit,locate, and reminisce a lot of the old places in Tacloban.Some of the buildings, schools are already gone but the City Hall and the Engineers office are still there. I was tearful when I we visited City Hall because that was my playground as a young girl. My Mom worked at City Hall for 20 years before we migrated in 1971 to New Jersey. My Mom used to take me to work when she didn't have a baby sitter and I remember playing in the steps of City Hall to entertain myself. My Dad and I stayed at the Royal Hotel where you have a picture of the internet cafe. How fitting! I remembered the building and the internet cafe where I spent time emailing my family. Thank you for the wonderful pictures. I went to Leyte Colleges for High School but graduated in New Jersey. The school unfortunately not only moved to another area but is also smaller in size now. Nevertheless, I have a lot of good memories of Tacloban itself.It would be nice to hear from other folks from Tacloban or Leyte Colleges and compare/share stories. Thanks for sharing these photos for all of us to admire and appreciate.

Hello Tacloban, Leyte P.I. I have enjoyed these beautiful pictures, They have brought back fond memories. I was stationed there in Tacloban during the years of 1944-45 and part of 46. I was 18 years old when I arrived, I am now 82. Your people were very nice to me. My ship was sunk there in the Leyte Gulf on Christmas Eve 1944, I was with the 61 Batt, of Sea Bees. I've read all the comments here & i'm a bit disappointed w/ some people kasi masyado nira gin huhuna huna kun ano it sisigngon hit mga readers w/ regards to the grammar.personally, from my experience here in canada bisan it mga canadians mismo na iba dire maaram gumamit hit tama na grammar.i'll give you an example..sometimes they'll going to borrow something from me,instead of telling me na can i borrow this?they'll say, can i steal this?.kahit sinong tao if they know the word borrow & steal alam nilang malaki ang diprensya nun!.then there's another..she'll going to help me w/ some errands she'll tell me " i'll grab it for you,instead of saying i'll do it or i'll take it for you".then the recent is just this morning when i happen to read the request of a guest..it says,"may i please"(that's redundancy)..see what i am trying to convey?..so,don't be too harsh on him,just be thankful that @ least they've made an effort to make this site.maybe for some this is nothing but for us who are really far away from home this is quite something!.

i love returning to tacloban especially during its fiesta but recently i'm disgusted to the city officials administration of the just concluded fiesta with the rescheduling of the pintados to the 27th when it was always on the 29th... SANGYAW? a blutant display of the romualdezes ka poderoso!!! I or rather most taclobanons love pintados fiestival hope the alien mayor realize he did not grew-up in tacloban so STOP selling or loaning tacloban. As I read the messages below, I am beginning to contemplate of moving back to where I began. Some of my Pinoy friends here in the US are actually in the process of "RETURNING HOME" after so may years of hardwork in the US which is basically what we/you do here. There is nothing like home, really. America is only good if you are young and able but once you are close to being a geriatric or perhaps an invalid, everything changes and it's no good at all. I currently work in a Nursing Home as a Physical Therapist and at a Hospital as an Registered Nurse, I can see how the elderly are treated. It is better back home because family and friends are able to take care of you and still remain in your own house or residence instead of a convalescent center/nursing home. It is getting to be so boring and monotonous here. Life perhaps will never be the same once you're back in your own turf. I am thankful that I found this site with all the photos that I can look at and reminisce the good ol' days.

I haven't been home to Tacloban/Burauen, Leyte since 1995 (the last time I visited). I miss the city so much. I went to school at Divine Word University for elementary and Sacred Heart Seminary (Palo) and Leyte State College for high school then DWU (for Med Tech)again in college (eventually finished college in Cebu City @ Southwestern University for Physical Therapy. Based on the pictures I have seen, I am beginning to have homesickness. I miss the people most specially. To anyone out there in my high school and college class, pls e-mail me if you have the time. Oh my God! This is the first time I've encountered a person making erroneous captions of pictures she took in Leyte and Samar. I pity for my own grammar errors she did because I am sure a lot of people all around the world will be abler to see these captions which are all grammatically wrong. She is a funny creature! She should have asked someone to edit those captions. I thought it was all her joke.

I'm from Leyte.. and it's just so funny the way you put some captions on the pics. specially the trikes and cars parking anywhere. well, my dad is guilty of emergency parking :) oh well, the streets in tacloban are narrow, and most establishment don't have enough parking spaces. im glad you posted these pics.. i feel nostalgic

Hi guys! Thanks for the nice and very informative pictures. I love looking at them 'coz they remind me of my visit there in Tacloban where I and my husband also stayed in Hotel D' Angelo during the fiesta days. This hotel is indeed the right location to view the Pintado Parade. I also remember my college days in LIT(now EVSU).That was only a short time but great. First, I want to greet Uncle Lone Castillo and my cousin Pearl Montejo Gaskins . I was born in 1947 and raised in Tacloban until I left with the Leyte Filipiniana Dance Troupe, with my sister, in 1965. I had the most interesting childhood there. Nothing could compare. I too used to jump off the pier, with friends, among the foreign freighters and domestic ships. I used to bring my friends to the movies, for free, to one of my grandmother's theaters. I remember the sling shot fights with real stones! Been back a couple of times while I was in the USAF, back in the sixties. Got married to my daughters mother in Redemptorist. I must say I don't recognize any of the shots you posted. Everything must have changed!! For the better, I hope. :)

thanx a lot  for those awesome pictures. kudos, obviously a foreigner, did a noble job of informing all and sundry, what Tacloban in particular and the Philippines in general, have in store for those who wish to know more about our place - a task many of us Filipinos are not very good of. already, his effort is bearing much fruits, judging by the overwhelming positive and encouraging comments he's getting. those pics ignited rush of memories of the 5 long years i spent in Tacloban during my college days at LIT(ce class '82), now EVSU. yes, the city didn't changed much - thanks to the inefficient political leaderships that reigned my beloved city - but for me it will remain the most preferred place for a vacation ever. we could only hope (sorry, i should say work) and pray that someday, we would still live to see for ourselves a prosperous Tacloban, with all its warmth and hospitality - traits we Warays are noted of - preserved and unaffected by the changing times. Hi! it's a nice shoots huh! kamaupay gud man hit aton tuna nga mahal.. alth ough im not a native of Tacloban kasi taga Bagacay, Hinabangan, Samar ako..but still im so proud of this feature of yours coz it reminds WARAYNON like me to look back the memories in Region VIII. I'm a school principal here in Cavite and im planning to have fieldtrip somewhere in layte with my students...Im looking forward na sana pagandahin pa ng mayor niyo jan ang Leyte. There's no impossible if he will just ask a fund from the government for such improvement.. Coz, looking back 1989, there's just few development in Tacloban.. Better if there will be a SM Dept. hi there!it's nice viewing those pix of tacloban..i was embarassed for the people in terminal and in the airport 'coz they really want to be paid in everything they do and they're the one who give the price they want..it's nice to give but naman naming the price di ba?!but eventhough I really love the place so much...Been to OCHO RESTAURANT..so affordable and delicious the food there.til nxt time!!!

Thanks you very much for showing your pictures of Tacloban City! I've been in the states for 16 years now and been back twice now but not for 10 years. This makes me want to come back and visit soon in my birth place. I lived on Paterno St. in front of the Alejandro Hotel. I want to greet all my Solidor brothers and family and the Geraldo family. I guess this are old pictures right I was just there this year 3/07 attending my father's funeral. There's a lot of new buildings and I tell you I still get lost when I go there I can't even find my high school in Sagkahan unless my brother take me there. I haven't seen my old pals in high school cause everytime I go back it's always business. I will be going back next year around March this time it will be a real vacation.

Oops, I am sorry my blog posting isn't clear. Richard Navales was the team captain of the College of Engineering Debating team and I was the team captain of the AB/BSE Debating team. The school, to some degree, has equipped me with some knowledge to beat the odds of life. Anyway, it is snowing heavily in the east coast right now and how I wish I am in a warmer climate. I miss the sun, the beach, and my friends and neighbors' laughter. Oh well, Tom Bodett once wrote, "The difference between school and life? In school, you are taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you are given a test that teaches you a lesson". Enjoy the spirit of Christmas everyone. The pictures remind me when I was still attending Leyte Institute of Technology (now EVSU). It seems it was only yesterday when I was a student at LIT. Today, when I went to the EVSU website, I saw names very familiar to me,i.e. Richard Navales, Dept. Head, Industrial Engineering Dept. and Eveyn Cardoso, the Board Secretary. How can I forget Richard? He was my formidable opponent in my college years. He was the team captain of the College of Engineering and I was the team captain of the AB/BSE department. How sweet it is to reminisce the good old days. I thank you for making this happen. My regards to my classmate in college, Cleofe Bonife of Bombo Radio, Tacloban.

WOW, is the correct term! I was stationed,with the U.S. Army, at Base K in Tacloban in 1946! What a difference a few years make! I did not see much of Tacloban during my tour of duty there. Several of us did use an Army power boat to visit Samar or is the correct term Cebu?

Nice pix guys, brought back a few memories, I was born and raise in Tacloban, left the country in 1995, lost track of my best friends, really miss them a lot, hope one of them will ran into this web site and hpefully be connected again. Went back home in 2004 with my youngest daughter, she was born here in Colorado, it was an eye openner for her and really changed her prespectives in life. I do really miss the place. My house is still in Del Pilar St. just walking distant to the hospital and DWU. I grew up there, went to high school in holy infant college, graduated in 1978 and graduated college from divine word universty and also worked at leyte park hotel from 1980-1986. I haven't been home to see Tacloban. It has been a long long time and tacloban have change alot. The pictures really bring back memories and hope to go back home for a visit soon. I hope somebody - my old friends, classmates, or my co-workers at leyte park hotel will be able to read this. Thanks for the photo's its reminds me again of going back to tacloban, we just been there this september 2007 with my husband, I would say that Tacloban improved a lot, its now clean and I just heard that Robinson Mall soon open up in Tacloban so I cant wait, its kind of sad that we only have Gaisano, I think having more malls and stablishment can help a lot of Taclobano's to improve more in the future. I cant wait to be back in Tacloban again soon. I miss my family who is living in Kalipayan sagkahan. I feel sorry that I never have a chance to see all my high school friends in Leyte National High School, Like Stephanie bato, Lutchie Aguirre, Eclisiastes Loay and many more hope to see you guys when I come back again I would difinitely look for you and maybe we could have reunion and talk about our high school days. Thank you so much! I've been living here in Cebu City for 3 years now and I really miss Tacloban so much! Although I'm not really from Tacloban (I'm from a town, also in Leyte, near Tacloban), that city is so special to me because I spent most of my college years there, before I transferred here in Cebu. What I really miss most in Tacloban, or rather in Leyte as a whole, are the Waray-waray food that I've grown-up eating, especially LOMO. Food here in Cebu sucks. Cebuanos generally don't know how to cook a real humba, paksiw, tinula, adobo...and so on. I guess we, Waraynons and Cebuanos just have different tastes when it comes to food. When I go home next year, I'm going to take scenic pictures of Leyte like the two of you did. Of course I will also indulge myself with all those food that I mentioned earlier. Hehehe....

Great Pics of a very beautiful Place. My first trip in 1999 I stayed at MacAurthor Resort, then went to Calubian Brgy to meet my future inlaws. I always stay my first night there, but now I have my wife take care of the bookings (shee gets a better rate!) Last year we all road to the air port together and had a Chicked Joy lunch at Jollibee.

Good job for posting those pictures. Seeing those pictures bought back a lot of memories when I was assigned as a medical technologist working for SIRDP Schistosomiasis (World Health Organization Project). I was assigned in Catbalogan and worked all the way to Macatingog, Pilar, and Ton-ok Calbayog City. We spent many hours in that ruggid roads and has not changed one bit. I have never went back to those places since I joined the US Navy except to see my family in Calbayog.

Hey Rob, I found she had pictures from a visit to Palo as well, if you are interested in Palo. I grew up in Palo myself and found the pictures nostalgic. What I like about this pictures is that they are raw, what you see is what it is, pictures. The shots on the Palo cathedral is brought back lots of memories as I used to walk by it evey day going to St. Mary's Academy a little south from there. Thanks for bringing these pictres out. Hello Tacloban! I just left TC 3 months ago and i already miss the city. I appreciate who made this website which anybody can access and visit the city through the photos displayed. I still remember clearly how the downtown area looks like and im sad to know that the traffic situation especially the tricycle drivers are not good. Most of the time makuri ito hira magpasakay kon usa la katawo it pasahero, and then they always expect a big amount kon foreigner it nasakay. We experienced this with my American husband when we were still there. Nag-isog it tricycle driver that we just gave him 20 pesos for the two of us from Pat erno st. to Ocho Grill. I was embarassed infront of my husband about this. In contrary, restaurant's staff is extremely polite and courteous to foreigners but not to the locals (filipino/taclobanons). Maybe this is just one of the Filipino traits....think so?... Anyway, i still love TC no matter what labi na it B-b-cue ha magsaysay..hhhhmmm Regards to all!!

Hi. We are an English couple who have a house in Mactan for holidays but live in England. We have many Filipino friends and one of them was born in Leyte. On our next visit in October we will be bringing our 83 year old Mum and want to take her to Leyte and stop in a small non expensive hotel on a white sand beach.We want it accessible by car as she cannot get on a banka and while she stops there our Filipino friend can visit his family. Thank you so much for your Tacloban City photos! I was born there in 1941, was schooled at the Holy Infant Academy (now College), until my family moved to Manila in 1950. I've always missed and often wondered what my beloved city has been like, and your photos helped me feel "in touch" again. Now that my children are all grown up and married, I plan to go for a visit with my husband as soon as we can. THANK YOU!!!

i love my hometown, i know how beautiful it is and hoping to more development coming there....i grow up there with lots of friends, i remember how the tacloban city growing until now...thanks for government...and im inviting you all those who didnt visit yet the city of tacloban to be there and look some nice scenery....and be with to the nice people there...accomodate and smilling faces there....see yah there...i love to be a filipina and i love my hometown, my country. hi,im a pure Taclobanon,i have this Guatemalan BF, who wants to learn about me and the place where i came from,.. trust me,he was the one who searched for this site,and he told me about this.. i am teaching him to speak tagalog,and he also teaches me to speak spanish(which is his language)..he likes tacloban because he thinks that,it looks the same as his country.. to my baby,te quiero mucho..

TACLOBAN CITY is one of the place that i wanted to visit. You know why? my GANG GA lives there. I havent been from that place ever since before. I just always search from the internet trying to view how TACLOBAN CITY looks like? compared to other cities ? Id like to thank you for sharing with us that wonderful photos and sceneries of TACLOBAN CITY, I love that place, REALLY! and my desire to go to there? was absolutely confirmed as it was scheduled this end of MAY 2007. what a really fantastic photos, i am really excited to see tacloban city i haven't been there before...i'm just searching about what is the bestest hotel in cebu,but i crashed this website accidentally,and make me have a second thought wether we gonna stay in cebu for a days,coz i like to go shopping in cebu whilst we're there or travel from our place to tacloban...coz we're visiting our place which is called cogon,is anyone can tell me is there any other mallxcept gaisano...thank you anna sonia

I am a musician and will be traveling to Tacloban in a few weeks and I really had no idea what the place was really like. Your pictures have enlightened me no end. How pleasant it is to see happy smiling people, also the beautiful countryside. Could anyone email me a street map of the city? hi.. im frances, manila girl.. i'd like to thank you for sharing ur photos, it helped me a lot! why? pls. let me share u why.. bout 2 or 3 mos ago, i was flyffing (an online internet game) and met a char. named sasuke08, gosh i was attracted instantly.. i joined their guild.. chatting while flyffing... getting 2 know u stage, so on & so forth..until 1 day, i found out that im madly inlove w/d guy.. i dont know but it just happened.. he is residing in tacloban & that explains why i want to know more of this town.. how i wish i could be part of this town eversince.. actually, this city is just small compared to where i grew up but im willing to give up everything just to be with my sasuke... we have'nt met actually but, who knows? by the way.. my birthdate is june 30, their feast day, sto. nino? aww, coincidence? ohh... im sad & happy at d same time... sad because my dream to become a part of this town might not push through, might not put into a realization.... happy because at least, sometime in my life, i've known a sweet, loving, kind, honest, down to earth, papable (hehe) kilig to d bones person... actually, he's GODs gift to me.. my kuys, my sashimi, my sasuke, my bry.. my bezzy bryan... love u so much honey... Wow.. how fortunate I am today. I was watching Kerie-Ann's morning show today and they were talking about internet website " wikipedia". I thought i will have a look and sure enough tonight before going back to bed, I will go to this site ad just browse around. Here I am reading about my home town " Tacloban City ". Great job Phil. I left Tacloban City in December 24, 1985 for Australia. I still remember to this day that I will always miss my home town.This website really showed and help me to really understand all about my town. I am leaving here in Australia but my heart, mind and soul still belong to my home town. I had great memories, i remember when i was in high school ( Leyte National High School ) I use to dream to travel overseas and settled in Tacloban, but did not happen because I met an Australian guy and married him. Very nice and interesting pictures.It brings back memories to the small community where I came from which lies just across Tacloban city.I'm talking about San Antonio, Basey, Samar.As a kid back then, I remember that beautiful beach there where I used to play and run.Most of the Taclobanons family picnickers goes there to spent their week ends.It is Just 10 minutes ride from Tacloban to San Antonio by pump boat at normal speed.The beach sand was so fine and we lay down and roll, build sand castles and etc. As I'm going to the water at about ten steps the water is about knee deep as I go farther the water is getting shallower about 6 inches deep and some part has no water at all. The sand was so fine and nothing to worry about injuries going to happen and so we enjoy so much our time like running, tug war, learning stunts (front and back clip and et al)As we go farther to the water at about neck deep we look for shells, mollusk for food.If got a chance type in www.filipinochannels.com

i love visiting the philippines i have been in tacloban two times and plan on going there every other year for the rest of my life since my wife is from tacloban. filipina woman are awsome! the photos are great they put me there even when im not.

graveh..!!! nindot kaayo diha sa Tacloban City.... naka bakasyon ko diha for about 2 months. nasuroy jud and mga baryo diha ug mga tourist spots, MAc Arthur's Park, san juanico bridge, leyte park... sa tanan na ako na visit na places sa tacloban city jud ako ganahan sa tanan.... gi mingaw nako diha.. i was 16 yrs old when i've been there in tacloban city... I love Tacloban and have been there many times and established many friends there.. Have not been able to get a room the last two times I was there.. Maybe I should have learned not to put all my favorite Hotels on the net.
