i'm a pure blooded igorot born at the city of baguio but then migrated here at Pangasinan. my father is from fedelisan sagada while my mother is from Bontoc. I would say yah sagada is one of the most beautiful place i have seen. once in every two years we go there for a family reunion. Sagada a place on top of the mountain, so cold and a so nice and peaceful place. a place with beautiful sceneries such as the caves found in there, the water falls, the ever green rice terraces, ideal also for hiking, photo taking, and aha perhaps jamming.

We've been in Sagada last Feb '08. We had the greatest time there. Worth travelling for almost 12 hours.. Our suggestion: Make use of the map (dont hire tour guides). We were able to tour the whole place all by ourselves (except for the Cave Connection thingy which really requires an experienced local to guide you through Lumiang and Sumaging caves). Here's Log Cabin's contact #, 09205200463. Dont miss the Saturday Dinner buffet there... (and dont forget to place reservations) :)

I remember that photo with a caption " Bridge shot from above", near that bridge is a rice fields which I've been helping my grandparents cultivating...that was when i was 6 yrs old.. Very nice to see that picture from you and i love to experience the feeling of working and walking (with a heavy load at your back like palay harvest and other stuff)that place again. It was a difficult for me then, but that is what life is. Have the courage to overcome these difficulties. So to all those who want to have some adventure,i advise you to carry your backpack and enjoy the trek. To people who originated in Sagada like me, make it a dream to come back. As the saying goes, there's no place like home. Suma-a tako ta mangil-an si nan entako nalpuan... God bless to all.

hi, im maria from Manila, me and my fiance is planning to visit Sagada this coming July 1st. Our plan is we will have our first day in Sagada then to Banawe and Baguio last. We just have 3 days to visit these all. I would just like to have an idea
1.) where is the best place (safe and cheap) to stay in Sagada and
2.) how to get there if we are coming from Manila. Is there any bus coming from Manila that will get us straight to Sagada? If there's none, please send me all the details about the routes (trasportation and fares) going to Sagada.
3.) is it more safe and less time consuming for first timers like us if we will hire a tour guide when visiting Sagada? Because we are also planning to go to historical places there. If so, how much would it cost us?
Looking forward to hear from you guys, i know this site is a big help for tourist. Thanks.

just been to sagada last november 2007,the travel time was quite long travel from dangwa station in baguio about 7 hrs, but i may say it was worth the long wait, it was trully an unforgetable experience, until this moment i can still smell the fresh trees from kiltipan mountains, and the picturesque views we saw as we trek going the big and small falls..we realised how artistic the people of sagada are when we visited the pottery center, we went to lots of spots there but the one that trully captured my heart was the breathtaking lake danum, i felt certain peacefullness when we reached the place, so quiet so serene..the coldness embraced my whole body which made me wanted stay a little longer to that place..if you are cheap finder for foods yet tasty i would definitely recommend haddeku and log cabin, but u have to make a day ahead for reservations at log cabin, they serve huge and mouthwatering homey foods..and best tasting lemon pie can only be found in sagada just look for this house as you pass going to lumiang cave, they make homemade lemon and egg pies soo yummy, not to mention the wines from gabay store, so for the drinkers better check it,for a nice place to stay go to st. george affordable yet the accomodation is rated A, i like the pink room. one of the best that i would always remember are the people in sagada...shows the courtesy they learned from their ancestor..haaay... last words..it trully melted my heart and i fell inlove with sagada..

We went to Sagada with friends in a Hilux 4x2 via Cabanatuan, Caraballo mountains, Banaue rice terraces. We left makati at 3am and reached Bontoc at 11am. Had lunch in Bontoc. Reached Sagada at 12:30pm. It was such a nice experience. The view was wow!!! We went to the caves. That was awesome!!! I love Sagada.
Now you can go to Sagada via Baguio. The Halsema is already cemented till Mt. Data I think.
We went to Halsema then to Kabayan last December. The road is wow nice!!!

Phil and Loida, thanks for sharing your vacation pics. It's just like i've been transported back home once again. I'm from the municipality of Besao but i've been to
Sagada many times. Where is your hanging coofins and cave pictures?
To all of you who wants to visit Sagada and it's Caves, I suggest the Sumaging Cave which is an hour walk from town. You will need to get a permit from the municipal hall before you go Cave exploring. Kentucky has the longest cave in the world, Mammoth Cave, but it doesn't compare to the adventure and the beauty of
Sagada Caves. I also recommend the Crystal Cave. It's beautiful inside. Just be sure, you're fit enough to crawl into tight holes and passages.. hehe. When visiting the hanging coffins, be respectful and not open the coffins. As far as accomodations? Don't go looking for a 5 star Marriott Hotel in
Sagada. If you want those accomodations, best stay in Baguio or Manila. Accomodations are generally dorm style. Shared bathrooms. But i'm sure you can find rooms with private baths. They charge mostly per head, from what I remember, it's very affordable. Bring an extra warm clothes or you can buy it there. Most of all, be respectful to the locals, and not wear short shorts or skimpy clothes. Those are generally frowned upon. Igorots are conservative and proud people.
(Matago tago tako am-in).

To those who like to trek to Sagada anytime of the year, this my advice. If you travel by your own vehicle, try to bring a 4x4 vehicle due to road terrain.IF you bring a sedan be sure to have your suspension are all ok and dont overload your car.If you take commute, take the Cable tours bus stationed along Araneta Ave.,OC.near St.Luke's Hospital. Call the owner for reservation 09185216790. The bus leaves Manila 8:30 PM to Bontoc. The take a jeep to
Sagada P35.00 ONLY FOR 45 mins.ride.
