I found that most of the time the longest I would wait would be about 2 hours.. It is a busy Port for the RORO Ferries.. Remember!!!! No one knows what Time!!!!! Don't Ask!!! Just go get all your Docs (Have a copy of the car registration) Go around to the parking area behind the Terminal... The Guard at the Ship Entry Gate will tell you when to Enter and get in line to board the Ship.. You do not have to pay the people running around asking you for money!!!

Soon I will return to where I came from after several years of being away. But let me tell you, there is no place like home. Allen is the place where spent a nuber of years since my days in Salhag. This place continue to be magnificent despite the passage of time. I agree with Fr. Mike who happens to be my very own nephew.

Admin: Where's my comment? I want it to be posted. Will Mike Enriquez of Imbistigador at GMA channel 7 investigates how difficult it is to travel by roro to Matnog Sorsogon and Allen, Samar because of fixers who demand extra payment with the consent of the guards before a anybody can board his car to the RoRo vessels.

Summer vacation is fast approaching and many local and foreign tourist troop to the provinces like the visayas probably by car via roro at Matnog, Sorsogon and Allen, Samar. Will the authorities ( PPA, PTA, or DOTC ) in these areas set up a clear guide how to navigate in the bureaucracy of getting a ticket a so on... because fixers are victimizing on the travellers to pay for an extra- amount before they can board their vehicles in the roro and the port authorities seems to condone these activities. if not how could these happened under there noses without their knowledge? Mike Enriquez of Imbestigador- help!

Fixers are lording it in both Matnog and Allen terminals. It will take you eternity to board if you don't approach one and pay extra. There is a ready market for the service of these cretins as, I think, there is a policy in both terminals to prioritize PU buses in boarding the ferry. Or is there? Or just a way to fleece private vehicle owners of their hard earned cash.

thanks for putting into the world map our obscure yet interesting and beautiful island of samar (northern samar). am happy for your sense of awe and wonder...i believe we have many kababayans who share your sentiments and love for life's journey/adventure... am a waray-waray and a "good samaritan" like you... last week i was in rosario (small town of norte, during our town fiesta... even for only 3 days, the experience is a lifetime to savor and inspire me.... "mababaw lang ang kaligayahan"... by the way, am a roman catholic priest based here in manila (military diocese), but i will never forget my humble beginning... i spent my childhood years in the vast sea shores and mangroves of my town... i've known typhoons and floods intimately. twice i chased death. i grew up also in the mountain areas when fishing was hard... i've known "kaingin", "paglukad", "paghal-it", and miss a lot "hinagum" and "pilipig"... ended, "poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree...".

I'm from Allen, just arrived last 22nd of sept. for 5weeks vacation spent mostly in the beautiful place of Northern Samar. I'm very glad for your kindness in sharing Samar, especially N.Samar, it's a great pleasure. Me just ask from what town of N.S.  belong(not too important)just if you like. Maybe if you want I can add more pictures here, particularly about Catarman, Allen, San Antonio and other tourist destination and beach resorts in the area. I'm doing business now about tourism in the area together with my partners particularly in Balicuatro Towns of N. Samar. we have great attractions and destinations for nature loving people. Right now the area was declared by the President, Her Excy. Gloria Arroyo as an Echo Tourism Park. If anybody is interested to travel to The Beautiful and Peaceful Place of Northern Samar , just send an e-mail to me for more information. Thank a lot and God Bless you -

Very informative. I am a Fil-AM but never been in cross-islands trip. So I surf the net first before surfing the road. I've heard of the Matnog-Allen ferry terminal but never been there, so your web page gave me an idea what to expect Me and my wife plan a cross-island trip up to Negros, Oriental on our Innova Toyota. Thanks a lot.
