I just couldn't help but notice some inaccuracies: - Golden Peak hotel is actually in the uptown part of the city, not down town - The "circle" of the city is Fuente Osmeña circle, a chief landmark in the city - The picture with the building labeled "Cebu Woman's Club" is actually showing the Cebu Puericulture and Maternity House and Cebu School of Midwifery - The hotel labeled "Casino Filipino Hotel" is actually the Waterfront Hotel, one of the more expensive and classy hotels here (and yes, it has a casino) - The "Mini castle" in the park (Plaza Independencia) was actually used as a guard's station back in the old days

posted pictures on this webpage are typical to the simple life of cebuanos.they remind me of my childhood when the streets were not so crowded, fresh air all around because only horse-ridden vehicles were the means of transportation. Memories enliven! Mabuhay!

Pitt of Holland. How you doin? No really, are you being sarcastic about the city or something? I do not find humor in it at all. What do you want to see streets of gold? Amsterdam is not a family destination I am sure with the red light district, however, you do let the people be open with how scummy they are in being open to the public. I am sure the streets are not that sparkling clean either. Go put your finger in the dam so that the place does not flood and take it out of your .....

to all those who have negative critics bout cebu! cebu is a dirty city, there is garbage everywhere except where the mayor is living. i have been living 2 years in cebu , i know every corner. there are streetkids every where and the mayor is looking at the other side. except for the sinolog, than all the beggers and streetkids go to jail so that the tourist dont see the poverty of the city. every walk over is plenty of urine and human discharge! SO ITS A DIRTY CITY

Very nice photos of Cebu. Spent a week there Aug 2007. Loved it. The Silver Dollar saloon is a real hoot!! This city has decent air...not like the smog of QC, Manila. Davao City also has good air. Anyone interested in investing in the Philippines, email me. merling2000@yahoo.com

You made very fine Pictures of Cebu City. I lived in Cebu City for 4 months in Borangay Banawa, near the Plaza, and I can say that those Pictures clearly show that Cebu City is a clean city for the most part compared to other Philippine citys. I love Cebu City. Please note that you misspelled "rich" when describing one Hotel. That Hotel is a casino that is why it is so expensive. Philippines great!!

I do appreciate the effort putting in all the pictures on line for us to see, thank you. I have to say, I do agree with Ms Sosing snd Ms Phoebe Largo, browsing through the pics. makes me sad, looking at it makes me realize Cebu looks old, dirty, and chaotic. Can there be any pics. that reflects modernazation? the pictures does not do justice for the queen-Cebu.

I am from Talisay City, Cebu and my pretty spouse from Dumaguete City. My brothers and sisters have moved to America for more than two decades to escape hardships just like most Pilipinos. My wife and I usually stayed in different hotels here in Cebu to explore the night-life although it is risky to walk around. My wife has a cousin, Atty. Ada Veloso whom we visit at Cebu City hall office where we had a chance to see your mayor Osmena. He is overweight, not good for his health. My spouse and I are planning to visit this year again to see our relatives in Dumaguete and Talisay who love to see us. My comments concerning your photos in the internet have created negative image of Cebu City because they are done by unprofessional photograpers. Before you release them for viewing, make sure they are performed and edited by professional. You should supercede them as soon as possible. Sad if you don't. Sincerely, Sosing and Phoebe Largo

Thank you so much for creating this webpage. I know it has been a lot of work, but for me it is a tremendous help seeing those pictures where I grow up and went to school in University of San Carlos. Cebu City is just like Manila but it's a lot cleaner and Peaceful, People there are nice and it has a lot of historical landmarks like Magellan's cross that the tourist always want to see and the Lapu-lapu Monument in Mactan Island. I miss my hometown already hope to be back soon.
